Energy Monitoring

Location: Dashboards → Energy Monitoring

Industrial energy analytics for assets equipped with Schneider PowerTag sensors. Track consumption (kWh), power (kW), cost, and CO₂ emissions in real time.

Overview Tab

KPI Cards

KPI Description
Energy Consumption Total kWh consumed in the selected period
Average Power Mean power draw (kW), with peak power noted
Energy Cost Estimated cost based on configurable rate per kWh
CO₂ Emissions Carbon footprint in kg, using configured emission factor

Charts

  • Power Trend — line chart of power (kW) over time. 24h view shows hourly resolution; 7d/30d shows daily labels.
  • Voltage — line graph of voltage (V) readings.
  • Hourly Consumption — bar chart showing total kWh aggregated by hour of day, identifying peak load times.

Live View — when a single asset is selected, a "Live View" button opens a detailed real-time modal for that asset.

Per-Asset Tab

Detailed breakdown by individual asset.

Asset Table (sortable)

Column Description
Rank Position by energy consumption
Asset Name and type
Energy (kWh) Total consumption — click to sort
Current Power (kW) Latest reading
Utilization % Operating hours ÷ total hours
Cost Estimated cost for the period
CO₂ (kg) Carbon emissions

Click View to open the asset detail modal with dedicated power charts and zoom controls.

High Consumer badge — appears on assets in the top 20% of energy usage.

Pareto Charts

  • Energy Consumption Pareto — bar + cumulative line showing top 10 consumers and their share of total. Identifies the 20% of assets responsible for 80% of consumption.
  • CO₂ Emissions Pareto — same analysis for carbon footprint.

Predictive / Analytics Tab

Efficiency analysis and anomaly detection.

KPIs:

KPI Description
Avg kWh per Operating Hour Fleet-wide energy efficiency
Most Efficient Asset Lowest kWh per operating hour
Least Efficient Asset Highest kWh per operating hour
Machines Monitored Total PowerTag-equipped assets

Energy Per Hour chart — horizontal bars showing kWh consumed per operating hour per asset:

  • Green = below average (efficient)
  • Amber = above average
  • Red = 1.5× above average (inefficient)

Inefficiency Warnings — alert box listing machines consuming more than 150% of the average energy per operating hour, with percentage above average.

CO₂ / Environmental Tab

Carbon emissions analysis and environmental impact.

KPIs:

KPI Description
Total CO₂ kg of CO₂ emitted, with average factor shown
Tree Equivalent Trees needed to offset annualized emissions (~22 kg CO₂/tree/year)
Savings Potential Estimated kg CO₂ reduction if switching to cleaner grid (Norway baseline: 0.028 kg/kWh)

Charts:

  • Top 10 Emitters — horizontal bar chart of highest CO₂-contributing assets
  • Emissions by Asset Type — doughnut chart breaking down CO₂ by equipment category

Filters

Filter Effect
Time range 24H, 7 Days, or 30 Days
Asset Type Filter by equipment category
Asset Focus on a single asset
Clear Selection Reset all filters

Configuration

Click Configuration to customize:

Energy Cost:

  • Cost per kWh (e.g., 0.25)
  • Currency (EUR, SEK, USD, GBP)

CO₂ Emission Factors:

  • Default factor (kg CO₂ per kWh) — select from presets (Sweden 0.045, Germany 0.385, France 0.052, etc.) or enter manually
  • Per-asset-type factors — override the default for specific equipment categories

Sensor Technologies:

  • PowerTag — Energy Monitoring (primary)
  • Wirepas — Temperature & Location
  • At least one type must be selected

Asset Types:

  • Checkbox filter — same as other dashboards

Data Sources

Metric Source
Energy (kWh) PowerTag sensor readings via wirepas_sensor_data
Power (kW) Real-time PowerTag measurements
Voltage / Current PowerTag electrical measurements
CO₂ Calculated: kWh × emission factor (configurable)
Cost Calculated: kWh × cost per kWh (configurable)
Utilization Operating hours estimated from reading frequency

PowerTag sensors required

This dashboard requires Schneider PowerTag energy meters. Assets without PowerTag sensors will not appear. Ensure tags are associated with assets on the Assets page.
